Some doodles of my own...

For my current uni project we have to create a number of repeat patterns to laser cut using the laser cutting machine. This is one of my final pieces so far. I have a very simple style of drawing so my designs in turn tend to be simple and hopefully effective. These particular designs would be laser cut into perspex and be manipulated into tables and chairs. They're a work in progress at the moment so hopefully they'll turn out OK.

Paris!

I've just got back from beautiful Paris and there's no need to say how amazing the architecture there is.
Being one of the most famous landmarks in the world, the Eiffel Tower had huge expectations to live up to and it certainly did that and more. We went in the dark and the views from the second level were fantastic. Even though strong winds meant the third level was closed, nothing could deter us from going 115m up the 120 year old, steel construction to the second level where a cafe and numerous shops await your arrival. This wasn't the first time I'd been to Paris however it was the first time up the tower and I can honestly say I would jump at the chance to go up it again.
My verdict: a must see at some point in your life.

Baroque in the 21st century.

Whilst researching images for my latest project at uni, I came across a relatively new artist, who specialises in ceramics, tableware and papers. She combines new motifs like hearts and stars with general motifs from the Baroque era. She cleverly fuses the two so that they flow seamlessly into one another. Her patterns can be printed onto numerous fabrics or painted onto different ceramics.

I actually really like her designs, I'd definitely contemplate buying her products.

My verdict: Modern imagery fused with Baroque classics is immensely successful!
